FURMINT
Furmint is a future star on the world wine map. A variety that, in the hands of a clever winemaker, gives exceptional wine.
The colour of the wine draws you in immediately and lets you know it is a serious wine. The intense colour with beautiful yellow-green nuances confirms that the grapes have been on the vine for a really long time, where they have fully ripened. We harvested them at the end of October.
The scent of this noble drop does not fail to impress. It gently guides you through numerous citrus sensations: in the background we can discern orange peel and delicate acacia flowers; nothing dominates. A compact wine with a persistent and long-lasting aroma.
The taste is very consistent with what we smell and taste – mineral, juicy and with a pleasant long aftertaste.
RIVANER
Here we have a wine that breaks stereotypes. Ripe grapes, a low strain and no intervention in the wine cellar result in a wine that surprises. The wine, which has matured in the vineyard, presents itself in an extremely youthful, but intense, beautiful yellow-green colour.
Exceptional fruitiness for the nose. Ripe tropical fruits dominate, in particular maracuja with melon, while the same perceptions continue in the taste, where they combine into a pleasant harmony of flavours and aromas. It leaves a pleasant salty and mineral taste. An overlooked variety that offers an extremely light and smooth wine.
RHINE RIESLING
The ripeness of the grapes is already reflected in the beautiful colour that adorns this excellent (typical) Rhine Riesling. It stands out after the first smell and thus reveals that it was made according to natural principles.
This is a Rhine Riesling that is different. Its scent initially takes us surprisingly into fields of ripe pineapple, then delicate notes of bread and cream follow, the result of a 100% natural biological (spontaneous) deoxidation. This also makes it unique in taste, which is surprisingly harmonious and not acidic, as is typical of the northern variety of Rhine Riesling.
CHARDONNAY
It’s the most widely used and recognised variety around the world, and with good reason. Among the most numerous are those from Burgundy, but that is only until you have tasted the Ferk family’s Chardonnay.
The beautifully bright green-yellow and golden colours tell us that there is WINE in the glass. Right from the scent it shows us the complexity that only an excellent specimen of this variety possesses.
Pleasant fruitiness, where the scents of ripe pear and honeydew melon intertwine, rounded off by a noble, complex fragrance. This is the result of the long rise of fine particles in the wine tank during the ageing of the wine in the cellar. In the taste, the story continues to develop; here, we are greeted by a perfect harmony of flavours that lasts for a long time.
SAUVIGNON
A reference wine, a classic example of Styrian Sauvignon that manages to surprise us with the intensity of its smell, since notes of green peppers, freshly cut grass and blackcurrant predominate.
Extremely fruity, clean and juicy in taste – a perfect harmony that makes you have another glass that is at least as good as the last one…
BLUE LIMBERGER
Blue Limberger embodies all the essence of the variety that researchers have declared our Slovenian variety. Typical deep violet colour, representative, one of the best in the country. Flavours of ripe black cherries, mulberries nicely spiced with an aromatic note that continues in the fruity taste. Perfectly soft silky tannins conjure up an unforgettable experience. A smooth, harmonious, fruity and perfect experience.
A wine for true connoisseurs, lovers of red wines and for those who will become so when they taste this exceptional Blue Limberger.
ABOUT THE
FERK WINES
On the slopes of the sunny Slovenske gorice hills, we make wine as it was done in the past. Without oenological additives, with minimal sprinkling according to organic farming guidelines and interventions in the naturally moist wine cellar are minor, as all our wine needs is time.
Ferk Wines are made of ripe grapes that are allowed to mature in the vineyard. We rely on cultivation according to nature-identical principles, which we adhere to with all our wines. The result are characteristic wines with intense colours, an exciting aroma and a full flavour that does not fail to impress.
